By 2019, 25 % of the United States Labor Force might be comprised of workers ages 55 years or older. Older staff are remaining within the workforce longer because of a wide range of causes. For many, they enjoy working and need to continue being an energetic and productive member of their neighborhood. There can be the very real financial want for older adults to proceed working past the traditional retirement age. When you evaluate the data on unemployed older adults, the need for workforce help programs becomes strikingly clear. Roughly 55 % of the unemployed senior population (about 1.1 million individuals) have been unemployed for six months or more and are consequently viewed as “lengthy-term unemployed.” For nearly 40 years, National Able Network has focused on addressing the workf orce and coaching wants of older employees. We are excited to announce the growth of our Senior Services to incorporate a brand new program funded through AARP Foundation’s BACK TO WORK 50+ Initiative. BACK TO WORK 50+ permits us to increase our offerings to older employees by offering workforce assistance to jobseekers over the age of fifty. Historically, Able has offered workforce and training companies to low-revenue workers 55 years of age or older. With BACK TO WORK 50+, we are thrilled to have this chance to work with older workers who have previously been unable to utilize our companies! BACK TO WORK 50+ is a collaborative effort between AARP Foundation and National Able Network designed to help 50+ job seekers by connecting them with the data, assist, coaching, and employer access needed to regain employment and sustain their earnings. A profession coach will help job candidates with growing a job search plan, creating the instruments that may enhance their visibility, and connecting with people and organizations that can help them acquire marketable skills on this current financial system and secure employment.
